Investment In DAPL:

$365,000,000

The Toronto-Dominion Bank is a Canadian multinational banking and financial services corporation headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. TD Bank is the second largest bank in Canada by market capitalization. According to Forbes, it ranks as the 19th largest bank in the world

Seventy recipients of TD Bank's scholarships issued an open letter asking the bank to withdraw their investment stating the pipeline is an "unjust project that violates the sovereignty of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation." The letter points to TD claims to support “responsible energy development” and commitment to “strengthening the communities where we live and work,” and points to this investment's clear message otherwise.

The scholarship recipients write, "We cannot reconcile TD’s commitment to empower and celebrate young people for leadership in our communities and our efforts to build justice with TD’s financial support for a project that undermines the sovereignty of Indigenous communities and has proven unjust from its very beginning, as exemplified by the lack of Indigenous consultation and the violent response to protests."

Meanwhile, protests against TD Bank have spread from Montpelier, VT to Providence, RI, to Philadelphia, PA, as consumers and activists refuse to stand for this destructive use of funds.

Join their protest and remove your funds from TD Bank.
